Nomination Workflow

The committee nominations process can vary by committee. Some committees have no approval process and immediately allow members to begin participating. While other committees have strict guidelines that are followed regarding the approval process.

This topic discusses a sample nomination workflow.

Managing a Nomination Workflow

If you decide to enable committee nominations whereby your participants must be nominated and approved as opposed to being added directly, a nomination workflow is suggested as follows:

  1. Add Committee Nominees. For each committee position that will require a nomination within your committees, add the nominees. Note that some organizations add all participants directly as members and then hold nominations for officer positions such as Chair, Co-Chair, Treasurer and so forth.
  2. Set nomination status. When you add a nominee, set the nomination status based upon the business rules you define. For example, a status of pending normally means that a vote for this nominee has not taken place yet and that the nomination is not yet ready to be transferred to active status yet.
  3. Accept or Reject Nominations. After nominations have been made and a vote has been held, accept or reject those individuals to their positions by transferring the nominee to participant.

Define your business rules for committee nominations prior to making committee nominations.
